Service

St. Mark's understands the power of service across the world and in the community. Each day, we strive to show God's abundant love through the power of contribution. St. Mark's celebrates the philosophy of “God’s work. Our hands.”  – one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor.

It's My Book

The It's My Book reading program is a partnership with Dewey Elementary School in the St. Louis Public Schools District. Each month, volunteers read books donated by the congregation, selected by teachers from Scholastic Books.

Lutheran Campus Ministry Dinners

During the school year, volunteers from St. Mark's prepare a home-cooked meal once a month before Sunday worship for the St. Louis chapter of Lutheran Campus Ministry.

St. Mark's Herb Garden

The herb garden is for the church and for the community surrounding St. Mark's. It is a place for those to access fresh herbs and or for a quiet place to meditate and take in God's abundant creation.

Food Pantry Garden

The food pantry garden is for the benefit of local food pantries in the region. Most of the produce is donated to either the Salvation Army Food Pantry in Maplewood or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Maplewood.

Care Packages

Care packages are created for college-aged youth around the Valentine's Day holiday to serve as a reminder that they are loved near and far wherever they choose to expand their knowledge. The church also delivers care packages to shut-in members.

Fair Trade Table

St. Mark's provides a variety of fair trade products at reasonable prices. The sale of these products helps bring awareness as well as support ongoing service activities.

Food Barrel Ministry

The food barrel ministry provides monthly offerings determined by the service committee at its monthly meetings. The church donates to local charities every month across various themes. For instance, the church usually donates school supplies during the July and August months and holiday foods during the fall and winter months.

Christmas Outreach

At Christmas time, the church has historically adopted a family through Feed My People. The church is matched with a loving family through the organization.
